Preface

In 1975, the Khmer Rouge took over the government of Cambodia.  It was a communist organization that had fought through the five year civil war using guerrilla tactics.  The goals of this government were to create a society in which there were no classes, religion, or free market.  It wanted to revert back to times more simple and, in the process, completely disregarded human life.  The cadres of this society killed anyone with even slightly conflicting ideas, and many others without any truthful justification; the death toll is estimated at 1.7 million.  This project was created to hopefully shed some light on a genocide too often overlooked in human history.
